今回の韓国研修では8年前のロンドン留学時代の友人に再会することができました。彼女はイギリスで大学進学したので、私の帰国後も何度もロンドンで会っていますが、彼女の故郷で会うのは初めてです。

This time I visited Korea,  I saw my korean friend. I’ve known her since  I was studying in London 8 years ago. Because she guraduated university in England, I saw her in London many times. But this is the first time to see her in her home town, Korea.

彼女は個室の韓国料理屋さんを予約してくれました。懐石風で小さな料理が幾つもきました。写真はその一部です。今回彼女と会って興味深かったのは、韓国の一般的な28歳の女性の美容 外科との関わりが聞けたことです。10代から26歳までをイギリスで生活した彼女が故郷に帰ってまず母親に言われたことが「美容外科でボトックスしなさい」だったとか。エラボットクスから始まり、ショッピングスレッドなどもお母様、叔母さまの強力な勧めで行ったそうです。始めは抵抗があったものの、結果には大満足。日本よりも美に対する意識が高いのでしょう。

She booked a private room to have local food for me. It was Koran full course of many many kinds of dishes. The picture above is only a part of plates I had. This time I find it very interesting that how Korean young girls like her, she is 28 by the way, is related to plastic surgery. After she was back from England 2 years ago, the first thing her mother told her was “You should get botox injection”. Her auntie also told her to get lift up thread. She had them and she liked it. Defunately plastic surgery is more popular in Korea than Japan I guess.

本日より池田院長とともに中国、大連で解剖学のワークショップを受けてきます。外科医としてのスキルアップ！ 帰国したら報告します。ちょっと寒さが心配です。

I’m going to Da lian in China with my boss today. We are gonna take anatomical work shop there. Skill up as a surgeon! I will blog about it when I’m back. I’m a bit worried about cold weather there…
